The use of our services, as well as the purchase of our products, implies that you have read and accepted the terms and conditions of this document.

HIRING OF TOURS

Modification of routes

Visits to certain places in the different destinations and tours may be eliminated due to scheduled or unscheduled closures. Failure to visit one or more of the places described in the tour itinerary will not give rise to any claims on the part of the client nor to any refund for the tour service. The only exception will be in the case that the client has paid Medellín Up Close – Medellín de Cerca for tickets or entrance tickets to the attractions and Medellín Up Close – Medellín de Cerca has not yet acquired such tickets from any third party. Now, if the tickets have already been purchased and the third party provider agrees to refund the money to Medellín de Cerca, Medellín de Cerca will in turn refund the money to the end user.

Assignment of guides and drivers

Narrated tours: if the group on a private tour consists of four passengers or less, the entire service will be provided by a driver-guide. For groups of five people or more, a guide other than the driver will accompany the group.

Non-narrated tours: in this type of tour the guide will always be the driver.

Hiring of shared tours

Shared tours have a specific meeting point and time. The passenger must arrive at the meeting point by his own means. The informed start time is the time at which the vehicle will start, therefore, it is necessary that the user is present at the agreed place, at least fifteen minutes in advance, because he/she will need time to understand the place, find the staff in charge of the tour and allow them to verify the reservation. Shared tours start punctually with the passengers that are present, therefore, those passengers that do not show up with the proper anticipation will run the risk of losing the tour. It will not always be possible to offer the user the possibility of joining the tour at one of the stops on the itinerary.

Cancellations

If the client cancels the contracted activity 24 hours or more before the start time of the service, he/she will receive a 100% full refund. If the cancellation is made less than 24 hours, the penalty fee will correspond to 100% of the value of the service, to cover administrative expenses, financial costs, damages and fees.

Date changes

Private tours: If the client requests a change of date 24 hours or more prior to the start time of the service, the activity will be rescheduled and there will be no penalty. However, if you request the change of date with less than 24 hours and more than 12 hours in advance, a penalty of 60% of the value of the service will be charged. We do not accept requests for date changes within 12 hours prior to the start time of the service. Only one change of date will be accepted. The new date can be set up to 30 days after the original date.

Shared tours: Date changes can be requested more than 24 hours in advance and will be free of charge. Requests for date changes made with less than 24 hours notice will not be accepted, i.e., they will incur a 100% penalty. Rescheduling for a new date will be subject to availability of Medellín Up Close – Medellín de Cerca or its suppliers.

Making payments

Before starting any service, the customer must have paid in full the amount indicated for such service. If, for any reason, there are outstanding balances to be paid, these must always be paid before using the service.

Health care policies

In order to issue medical care policies, insurance companies require the full name and identification number or passport number of each traveler. Therefore, only passengers who have provided this information will have the medical assistance service included in the tour, in case they need it. If Medellín de Cerca requested the aforementioned information, but the tour contracting party did not provide it, he/she exonerates the tour operator from any responsibility for medical care.

Duration of tours

Each tour has a maximum duration that is informed in the service description page. Unforeseen events that may occur for external reasons beyond the control of Medellín de Cerca, such as weather phenomena, traffic problems, public order disturbances, etc., do not imply that the duration should be extended, even if this means the impossibility of visiting some points or attractions of the tour. In all cases we will do our best to complete the service as it is expected to be done under normal conditions, but it is likely that sometimes it will not be possible to complete the tour in its entirety, due to special weather, transportation, public order, among others. In the event of an event such as the ones described here, neither total nor partial reimbursement of money will be made.

OFFERS AND PROMOTIONS

Gift of the book Medellín Up Close – Medellín de cerca for hiring private tours: This gift will be given at the time the tour begins and after the client has completed the total amount or payment of the tour. A gift copy is assigned for each reservation, not for each of the people participating in the tour experience.

In shared tours: the gift will be a digital version of the Medellín Up Close book. Our team will provide the customer with directions to access the downloadable file in specific dates and times. The customer will access the eBook during the time spans specified by our team, as these files can't be available all of the time.
